August 31st 1997: Diana dies
On this day in 1997 Princess Diana, Dodi Al-Fayed and their driver Henri Paul died in a car crash in Paris. Diana had been married to the heir to the British throne, Charles, Prince of Wales, and the couple had two sons, William and Harry. They divorced in 1996, which led to great media attention on the young princess. She was well loved by the people for her charisma and charity work. She died in a crash in the Pont de l’Alma tunnel in Paris. Her death was mourned worldwide.
I will never forget the day she died. I remember few days at that age (7), but I definitely remember that day.
